Why Am I Blocked/Not On The Chart?

So I have started to get a few people asking why they are blocked from TweetChart.net and I feel I need to make some things clear. The script is way more simple than you people realize. I currently have no way to block any one specific person. No one has been blocked by me! I have spent a few weeks researching this out though and I think I know what is happening.

TweetChart uses the official Twitter API feed. If the Tweet doesn’t come through the API, our automated script does not see it. So how do you tell if you are blocked (by the Twitter API)? Open up one tab with the Twitter search page for the #metal hastag. Then in another Tab post a few updates with the #metal tag. Then jump over to the tab with the #metal search results. Keep refreshing until your Tweet shows. If it doesn’t show within five minutes, you are blocked from the Twitter API. You have to contact Twitter to ask why. I have zero control over that and have no clue why your messages were blocked.

5 Key Points To be clear on:

1. I have not blocked anyone

2. I have no way to tell why you were blocked from the Twitter API

3. I have no control over getting you unblocked from the Twitter API

4. If anyone knows of a way to get people unblocked from the API I would like to know.

5. If the term API confuses you just think of it as the Twitter search for now.

Seriously, if anyone knows how to get someone unblocked from the API I want to know. That way I can answer peoples questions when they think I did it. Hope this explains well enough and helps a little. Please keep up the feedback. It helps us make the TweetChart better for all. I hope to release some major updates very soon.
